Singaporean Tamil Songs
SINGAI NAADU

A song written by Singaporean musician Shabir Tabare Alam, this song became the Tamil National Day Parade song in 2012.

The chorus of the song directly translates to "Singapore, My Country, My Home".

The interlude of the song features the fusion of a South Indian instrument called the Nadaswaram and a Chinese instrument, Erhu

MUNNAERU VAALIBAA

The title of the song means 'Move Forward, Youth'.

Munnaeru Vaalibaa is written by Mr S. Jesudassan. He is a Tamil teacher for 45 years, and it became one of the first community songs to be sung in schools.

Many Singaporeans have also sung and danced to it at National Day Parades.
